James Gunn On ‘Guardians’ Return: “From The Bottom Of My Heart, Thank You”
James Gunn has responded after Deadline broke the news that Disney has reinstated him as writer-director of Guardians of the Galaxy 3.

It's hard to talk about this without courting controversy, but this is great news.
He was essentially forced out thanks to the work of alt-right trolls, and it was largely retaliatory.
His comments were pretty gross but in no way should they have caused him to be removed from the movie. He was being equated with actual sexual predators when all he was guilty of was having a gross sense of humor.
So I'm glad that not only will the movie retain his signature, but that the trolls didn't win. Good on Disney.
