Friday Night Lights (TV)

So as promised, I'm watching the DVDs and I really do love this show.

Upon further inspection....this is not just a show for football fans, it is a show for all fans of drama.

I really do wish I wasn't the only one watching this.

Don't worry Doom, all five discs of the Season 1 set currently occupy my top 5 spots on my Netflix queue. Well 4, really, 'cuz disc one came in the mail while I was on vacation.

I've decided if I like Disc One enough, I'll just buy the set since it's only 20 bucks at my DVD/comic shop.

I have only 3 episodes left of the first season to watch.

You know how much I love this show? Enough to buy it on DVD.

And seeing as how I never buy DVDs of TV shows....that says a lot.

I am urging everyone who is a fan of drama shows to see this show. I will definitely be following Season 2 and hope you all will watch it so we can chat about it.

I think I'm gonna cry.

Fine, god, I'll see if they have the DVD in the library and check it out.

I hate you Doom, I try to get away from the TV and shows keep dragging me back to it

A few days ago, I had never seen an episode; then I viewed the first disc from Netflix, and was so impressed by how great it was (top notch writing and acting all around) that I went and bought the set. That's never happened before.

I'm up to Episode 7 now, but school starts tomorrow. Hopefully I can still finish off the set before Season 2 premieres.

EDIT: Don't forget, the DVD comes with a "Money-Back Guarantee" if you don't end up liking it. That's pretty sweet.

I just finished the season. What an ending!

The show is so well written that it is impossible not to get drawn in. And once you're hooked------you're hooked. And then you get that ending and it's like "".

I seriously love this show. More than any other show I've seen in the past year. It is, without a doubt, an absolute masterpiece to watch.

If more shows were as good as this.....I would stop leaving the house. I'd gain about 200 pounds from doing nothing but sitting on my *** and watching TV.....but if they were as good as "Friday Night Lights"....it'd be worth it.

I've yet to pick up this show on bootleg DVD, though I do intend to, for the reasons outlined above and for the fact that I'm interested in what a post-Early Edition Kyle Chandler does for a living now.

Season 2 Premiere this Friday!!!!!!

DJF, you finish season 1 yet?

About 3 hours ago (and yes, I planned to finish it right before the premiere). Such a perfect end to a perfect season.

From what I've heard about Season 2 -- critics recieved the first three episodes -- it's a slight step down in quality (but only regarding some storylines), but still the best drama on TV.

Season 1 grade:

A+

That's right. A rare plus.

Yeah, just saw that earlier on my Marvel newsletter. Best part?

And, oh yeah, he's also a huge comic fan who's happy to tell you just why Havok is the best Summers brother and why you need to respect the awesomeness of Iceman.

Last night marked the first time I've shed tears during Friday Night Lights. And not just the eyes get watery sort of tears; I mean full-out salty tears streaming down the cheek kind of tears. It happened in the last five minutes with the scene between Glen and Tami, where at first came the goosebumps/chills and then the tears, but once the final scene between Tyra and Landry got under way, I was having both at the same time. Connie Britton needs her Emmy nomination now. Adrianne Palicki (who reads Invincible! ) was exceptional as well in that aforementioned final scene.

Landry looks so much like Matt Damon it's not even funny. And isn't it great that his father is played by none other than Agent Aaron Pierce from 24? That's perfect casting right there.

After a shaky start last week, I'm ready to say that, once again, Friday Night Lights IS the best show on television.

So my question to you, fellow UCers, is : Why in the hell aren't you watching? Srsly.

I've cried at least 4 different times with this show.

Why aren't you people watching this?

If you love Friday Night Lights (Hi VVD) make sure you check out these absolutely hilarious recaps over at TVGasm. If you don't want their unique brand of snarkiness affecting the way you watch new episodes (that would be me) then just read the picture captions for each of the first three episode recaps (there are about 7-10 pictures per episodes, nearly all of them  worthy).

The Jason Street LOLcat one is my new favorite.
