This show has no feel of being Flash Gordon. It doesn't seem to even have a sense of direction.

I watched one episode of it. It was the worst thing I've ever seen. Everyone else is right--this show is total crap.
Update : New advert says it starts next monday at 8pm and before that at 7pm = a documentry called "The Flash Gordon story. Description says "A look at the legacy of legendary hero flash gordon, from his comic bok roots, to the big and small screen."

This has just started over here and I found it to be fairly fun, silliness. It was wraught with flaws and inconsistencies. Flash and Dale seem remarkably relaxed considering that they're on a ******* ALIEN PLANET!
In my opinion, there isn't really any incarnation of Flash Gordon that's very good. Even the original comic strips were just an attempt at emulating Buck Rogers. Pretty much all incarnations of the character are only enjoyed because they have a strong so-bad-it's-good feel off of them (the serials, the ultra-camp '80s movie, etc). This new series is no exception.
