I'm pretty sure this is just Millar's good natured way of brushing off those insistent demands that the continuity be fixed ASAP.

Sure he could say that it's already been planned (whether it is true or not), but why not have fun at everybody else's expense?
 
The war between the FF and the forces of evil raged on through the opening years of the Ultimate Universe! You would not have known, because then, it was only a prophecy!

But... in the future... the past .... has occured.















(And I personally loved how they brought back Ross. Fits his character, was really funny, and made an incredible Dr. Strangelove reference)
 
I have a theory regarding the FF's appearance in the USM Super Special. Maybe they're not the UFF, but the parallel FF in Crossover before they became zombies. They may have explored the Ultimate Universe before the infection came, the UU was at the top of the list for the next world to be infected. The only problem in this theory is that it seemed that the zombie FF needed Ultimate Reed to open the portal from their side, but the reason may be that a lot of the zombie FF's stuff was destroyed so they had to leech from him another way to reopen the gateway to the Ultimate Universe.
 
This still doesn't explain Tony asking Fury about accepting the FF on the Ultimates, and Fury saying no due to bad publicity. Or the fact that Peter wrote an essay reffering to the Fantastic Four. Or how Peter tried to join the FF and meets Johnny for the first time several moths later after Johnny invited him over.

Maybe Ben whacking the T-Rex and the Zombie FF both have something to do with the UTU FF. But what were the UTU FF doing in NYC? Whay does nobody remember them and why didn't Reed, Sue, Ben and Johnny feak out when superheroes with their names and their looks showed up at the Baxter building which at the time, wasn't a school for super-geniuses. Even though Reed was like thirteen when he enrolled. Bah I'm tired. My rambling prob. doesn't make sense. Somebody correct me.

Well, Peter never made explicit mention of the Fantastic Four. He only talked about a "family who can come together" in his essay, and it was the visual narrative of Super Special itself that gave us the FF.

Of course, that still doesn't make sense since that means who that family is would be completely up in the air, but I'm just saying that Peter's referrence to the FF was implicit rather than explicit.

And also, this doesn't explain all the other numerous glitches you enumerated, but I'm just saying is all.

Or maybe the FF went back in time to save the world of threats before Daredevil, Spider-Man and the X-Men started kickin' butt.

Possible Explainations

*The FF were around, but not public, going public could cause this bad publicity.

*Peter read about the FF on "Cletus's" website as mentioned in issue 69.

*Bendis creates continuity glitches, so people like me will obsess over fixing them. :( :x :) :D :lol:

According to the Ultimate Time line, the FF didn't even get their powers until 'after' the Ultimates were established.

Not sure which timeline you're using, but the first two UFF arcs occur before USM #1, UXM #1, and Ultimates #1, meaning the FF got their powers before everyone else. The third arc, N-Zone, picks up immediately after the first Ultimates volume finishes, then there's a huge time-jump in #14 while they're building the shuttle and launch pad to the N-Zone. This is what helps catch up the UFF's timeline with the other titles. And now we know for sure all four ongoing titles are occurring at the same general time in 2004, USM, UXM, UFF, and the Ultimates 2.

Wait! No! This can't be! Arg! Curse you Millar and Bendis for not communicating! In Ultimates #2 there is the conversation between Fury and Tony about inviting the Fantastic Four. In Ultimate Fantastic Four #5 Dr. Storm calls out to Johnny to get away and let the Ultimates Handle it! These two lines do not work together. That one line in Ultimate Fantasic Four has screwed up everything. And it's Millar's fault because he's the only one whoes characters use 'God in Heaven!'

Exactly, hence the discrepancy issues. But to support the UFF existing before the rest of the heroes are the UMTU issues which mention Doom already existing, more evidence the FF formed before everyone else. And in terms of the Ultimates mention by Dr. Storm, some have theorized that he was referring to SHIELD's Black Ops team at that time (Fury, Hawkeye, other random grunts...Black Widow hadn't yet been recruited by Fury so she wouldn't be included). Also, Millar himself mentioned in a post on his message board that the UFF did indeed form before any other heroes. And he was the co-writer of the first UFF arc after all, so I'll take his word for it. Check out the timeline thread here, read through the 10 pages or so of posts besides checking out the timeline for proof and evidence as to why I placed everything as I did:

Well then, UTU FF don't really screw up the time line (Except that absolutely RETARDED (Yeah Bendis , you hear me!?) issue with the skrulls). Only the art needs to be tweaked.

Exactly, and the UMTU #9 issue you're talking about was never meant to be a part of continuity anyway, it was a joke issue, doesn't have any bearing on the rest of the Ultimate universe. In other words, non-canonical.
