The thing is these reboots are just a cynical attempt to keep the rights away from Disney. The FF need a reboot, but one made by Marvel, not Fox. Fox ruined the FF movies in the first place, why should they get another kick at the can?

I'm waiting for Fantastic Four 2: The Quest for More Money.

i think rosie could pull of the thing pretty well...with minimal make-up/cgi to boot!

According to screenrant.com in the new Fantastic Four Reboot the Thing will not be a person in a Thing Suit. But done in CGI instead.

I thought The Thing costume was terrible and I'm all for CGI, especially if they get an Andy Serkis to do all the motion.

I'm reticent about the choice.

Clearly they should get Guillermo Del Toro's crew to design the Thing, and the antagonists. Maybe some Negative Zone action, yo?

I thought the suit Thing was perfect. I can't judge without seeing the CGI, but in general, practical effects are so much better, and since we already have one that looks totally realistic, that's disappointing to hear.

Totally agree. As much as people claim people in suit/stop motion/puppets are flatly better than CGI, I have to disagree with them. I loved Chiklis as Grimm, and his voice was great, but the actual suit looked pretty plasticky and amazingly fake. I think a CG Thing (especially if scaled correctly, I mean, Reed was taller than Ben in the two previous movies), would help give a bit more weight to the character.
