Family Guy Discussion (Spoilers)

Also, I've never found the old pedophile guy funny. Maybe the first few times in small doses but they've long since killed him and he really dragged this down. You know who should've played Obi-Wan? Peter's father! Right there, that would've made the whole thing fifty times funnier. He could've been berating Chris and the rest of the group the whole time and we wouldn't have had to endure that long, joke-free "Owe it all to you" number.... yawn.

I was thinking that too... Either Peter's Dad, or Adam West... Or hell! Meg! There's lots of jokes about having Meg play an old man character! But nooo they have to choose the one character that shouldn't have popped up more than the original episode he was in... For me its the equivelent of having the Greased Up Deaf Guy be Obi-Wan. His role in this whole thing pretty much ruined it for me.

They did a really good job adapting the original good stuff, and when they just made little asides about the rediculousness of the original movie (the railings bit, and the bit about the two-meter hole that can blow the whole damn thing up), but by turning Cleveland into more of a black stereotype than he's ever been before, they made R2D2 the most obnoxious bit in the special.

They should have done more Star Wars jokes, and less wacky non-sequitors that just HAPPEN to take place within the story of Episode IV. There were too many in-jokes to the show, stuff that could have happened in any episode... I mean, the guy who runs the show is obviously a big fan, and there have been really funny Star Wars jokes before ON the show, but for some reason he decided not to do that for the majority of the special.

I was pretty damn disapointed... I was expecting something closer to the quality of old family guy. Guess I was expecting too much.

Couldn't have said it better, as he's the only other obnoxiously unfunny character that can equal the power of the OPG's humour vacuum. At least he talks fast, though.

I can't see how they missed the Peter's dad oppourtunity though. And you're totally right about the more-Star-Wars-jokes thing.

Glad to hear you liked it (somewhat), Planet-man.

Me? I loved it even more than I thought I would. It really much better than I expected from Family Guy.

I just hope they don't release this as its own DVD; they're already getting away with robbery with the current box sets. (30 bucks for 13 episodes?! Come on...)

8.5/10

...I love Herman...

:scared:

Mmm... Peter's dad died, didn't he? Maybe they just don't want to use the character any more?

It was nice how serious they took it. I was expecting the usual cut aways to be present and take away from it. That was a pleasant surprise.

Character-wise, I'm rather dissapointed with Stewie's role as Vader. The only good part about the Vader scenes was the "There's a two meter hole and if you fire a lazer in it, the entire station will blow" joke. Meg... was there for like a second... But this was a great episode for Chris. He looks much better in the Luke outfit without the hat and ear rings.

Hooray, Watto. Maybe he is a Jewish stereotype, but I love his design.

I actually liked how much of it was focused on repeating old jokes. Wacky Inflatable whatever still somehow manages to crack me up. Don't hate me.

It wasn't amazing, but it was cool, if only to see Family Guy characters act out the entire movie.

The Star Wars special was completely awesome.

Now it may be from the fact that I am easily amused....or the fact that I find Family Guy to be funny all the time....or whatever the reason---this episode was gold.

Even the Creepy Old Guy wasn't overused. And his "Dirty Dancing" joke? HILARIOUS!

If it was up to me, I'd have them do the other 2 movies.

No, remember the story, I saw it

I didn't want too, I didn't expect too, and quite frankly, it wasn't my intention to see it, but oh yes, I did see it.

****ing Star Wars

Family Guy was great last night. I laughed just as many times as I did last week, and that episode was twice this one's length.

Missed last nights Family Guy? djf's got you covered. Watch it here.

Really? I thought it was one of the worst. The Chris scenes were very boring. The only good part I really liked was Meg's sex call with Peter.

Anybody seen the clip that got cut from the U.S airing of the episode on sunday? It was on youtube but it got removed........ quagmire boned marge, then took her back to the simpsons house, homer walked in on them doing it and quagmire shot homer, then shot marge, then shot bart, then shot lisa

That was recklessssss

....Seriously?

Chris is my least favorite core Griffin family member. I even prefer Meg to Chris. His voice is annoying, and they haven't really developed his character at all since the beginning of the series....So most jokes involving Chris just aren't funny to me.
