DC Live-Action Multiverse - Viewing/Reading Order

You can see a recording of just before the acid and he looks like Tommy Lee Jones, so unfortunately that doesn't work...
Go down a bit and you'll see it

Depending on the casting for The Batman, might have to just accept the same thing for James Gordon too, unless they clarify that it's separate from the DC Extended Universe at some point.

Remember that cancelled Batman '89 comic? That would have been fun.

Just watched Batwoman episode 5 and they refer to the "Arkham breakout two weeks ago", placing it 2 weeks after Elseworlds. Using selfishmisery's CW timeline, that places it in the region of January 25th - around the same time as episodes 11 of Arrow, Supergirl and the Flash, and definitely before Supergirl episode 12, which explicitly takes place on February 14th, Valentine's Day.

I also have placements for posts 84-91 of Chronicles of Cisco relative to the Flash season 5 (that's as far as I've gotten with my watch/readthrough atm!):

5x01
Post 84 "#CiscoCarpeDiem"
5x02-03
Post 85 "#YOLO"
5x04-05
Post 86 "#NoClowningAround" (during 5x05)
5x06-08
Post 87 "All Your Cisco are Belong 2 Us #100Episodes"
5x09
Post 88 "#Schway" (during 5x09)
5x10-11
Post 89 "#BOGONONO" (during 5x11)
5x12-13
Post 90 "#ArcticLab101"
5x14-15
Post 91 "#DailyDibny"

Batwoman episode 6, while casually revealing the real name of the Joker as Jack Napier (?!?!), sadly doesn't give much of a clue as to when it's set. The only indicator is that a character who was stabbed in the stomach in episode 5 has totally recovered and is now happily running around, suggesting it's been at least a few weeks. As a total guess (and lacking any evidence to the contrary), I feel like it might take place somewhere between The Flash 5x15 and 5x16? We'll probably have a better idea of where to put it once Batwoman catches up with the other shows!

EDIT: Also, the SuperheroHype timeline (https://forums.superherohype.com/threads/arrowverse-watching-order-2-0.538707/) has updated with the latest episodes, if you feel like adding those on! I haven't got that far yet myself though.

Hi again! :) Several things: 1) Chronicles of Cisco Post 92 takes place either during the end of or immediately following The Flash 5x18 2) You have an erroneous "2" in the title for Black Lightning 2x10. 3) Chronicles of Cisco Post 84 is missing - it should be immediately after post 83. 4) You have Batwoman 1x05 twice, where the second one should be 1x06. 5) How come there's now Lucifer 5x04 at the top of the timeline?

Do you think maybe it might help to put an asterisk next to as yet unreleased episodes like DIrishB used to? Might help keep things more understandable for people using the timeline as a watching order! :) Also, Chronicles of Cisco Post 93 takes place immediately after The Flash 5x19 and Post 94 takes place during The Flash 5x21 :)

Finally, Chronicles of Cisco post 95 takes place between the Flash 5x22 and 6x01. It doesn't give any other clues as to its placement, but as it was uploaded on September 17th, by air date this would put it after Arrow 7x22 and before Black Lightning 3x01. And that's it! They ended the blog there :(

Nothing specific date-wise again in Batwoman Episode 7. At least a week at the bare minimum has passed since the last episode, as Batwoman has been tracking a series of shootings for the past week. However, it's entirely possible weeks or even months have passed since the last episode - there's no real way to know. The only other interesting thing worth noting is that it is now stated to have been four years since Bruce Wayne left Gotham, rather than three as stated in the pilot and Elseworlds Part 2, implying around a year has passed since episode one - but assuming the characters could be rounding (i.e. "3 years" means "between 2.5 and 3.5 years"), this doesn't actually give us any definite information except that it's before 25 December 2020 (the last possible date these approximations would still hold true if you do the maths, assuming the Pilot was on December 26th).

Since we've already been told in-universe that Crisis will take place on December 10th 2019, and we only have one episode left before Crisis starts (by which time the show needs to have caught up with the others), I'd suggest moving episode 6 forward and placing it, followed by episode 7, somewhere in the few months between Arrow 7x22 and The Chronicles of Cisco - Post 95, until we get any further information!

EDIT: Also the SuperheroHype Timeline updated its placements for the latest season's episodes again. https://forums.superherohype.com/threads/arrowverse-watching-order-2-0.538707/

Are you sure? I think I saw a link to the CoC for breacher episdode on the show's Instagram Stories last week
Good point - the final Tumblr Chronicles of Cisco says he's moving to Instagram, but since there was nothing in the posts that I could find, I assumed that hadn't actually happened in the real world - but I didn't think to look in the Stories section! There are two Chronicles of Cisco Posts here in the Instagram stories: https://www.instagram.com/stories/highlights/17860548925553067/
File_01001 seems to take place after Post 95 but before The Flash 6x01. File_01002 seems as though Cisco started writing it during 6x02 and finished it towards the end of 6x03, so I'd place it just after 6x03 in the timeline.

Black Lightning S3 is one month after Season 2, so between Black Lightning S3 and Year 8.

Don't expect Tom Welling's Clark Kent to have a major role.
Don't listen to WeGotThisCovered. They're liars. Find another source.

But, but, they said they had it covered! :) LOL.

There are a number of sites that seem to combine informed speculation presented as fact with completely made up rumors from "trustworthy sources" to provide a never-ending stream of franchise-based "news stories" that are actually fan fiction. I suspect the Tom Welling story falls more in the informed speculation category, but at this point we probably won't know till it hits the screen. In the absence of actual news/leaks from the studios, these sites and YouTube channels seem to do quite well as a business model, because they can provide a constant source of content for clicks, whereas the more trustworthy outlets have to wait for actual news to drop before they can write anything.

Wegotthiscovered seems to fall somewhere in between; they have lots of stories that (like the Welling rumor) have been reported elsewhere, or that repeat actual news, but they also have a fair amount of dubious source-citing and aren't afraid to pull from the bottom-feeding fan fiction sites when news gets slow.

Yeah, I suspect it will be short, Tom Welling may have said he filmed his scene, but it could be covering up for the actual reveal.

This Marc Guggenheim quote is pretty promising: "'One of the things that we said very, very early on in the pitches to the studio and the network is that this can't be Crisis on CW Earths,' crossover executive producer Marc Guggenheim tells EW of the forthcoming adaptation of Marv Wolfman and George Pérez's comic book event series. 'This has to be Crisis on Infinite Earths, and we have to touch as many strands of the DC tapestry as possible.'" If that was their intention going in, I can't imagine they'd leave out the low-hanging fruit of the non-Stargirl Berlanti-produced DC Universe shows and the already-connected-though-casting Wonder Woman '77 and Lois and Clark, even if the cameos might end up being on the obscure side (as it is for the Burton Batman universe.) I can't wait to see how this will play out.

I've now reached the end of this timeline, and am watching the remaining episodes in air-date order, which may be a good starting point for the timeline until a better order can be found:

Supergirl 5.06 Confidence Women
Black Lightning 3.05 The Book of Occupation: Chapter Five: Requiem for Tavon
Supergirl 5.07 Tremors
Black Lightning 3.06 The Book of Resistance: Chapter One: Knocking on Heaven's Door
The Flash 6.06 License to Elongate
Arrow 8.05 Prochnost
Black Lightning 3.07 The Book of Resistance: Chapter Two: Henderson's Opus
The Flash 6.07 The Last Temptation of Barry Allen, Pt. 1
Arrow 8.06 Reset

I've just watched Supergirl 5.06 and can confirm it takes place pretty much immediately following 5.05 :)

The Flash 6×07 takes place 2 days before the crossover

Supergirl 5x07 takes place in the week following 5x06, and ends on a cliffhanger that should lead directly into 5x08.
