Gunn confirmed Kendra's Hawkgirl wings are organic.

My rough understanding of the Hawkworld lore (yikes) is that if the wings aren't organic, the individual is pureblooded Thanagarian with Nth Metal infused wings.

So Kendra here is a reincarnated Hawkgirl from a long line of previous lives since Ancient Egypt.

(Keep in mind, Hawkman in the DCEU had alien tech and Nth metal wings so he was pureblooded & not a reincarnation despite what the DCEU Wiki said.)

Although I doubt the original film would be set in the DCU since Shia LaBeef mentioned Batman & Robin, and the film is set in 2005.
