I can't think of a Daredevil cover that I didn't love. I have this one pic drawn by Quietly of DD fighting a group of ninjas while diving off a building.

I even love Quesada's covers.

In the past two weeks I have pulled together and read the entire 91 issue run of Daredevil, Smith through Brubaker... And let me just say that this is probably one of the greatest series ever....

Also: 91 was pretty ****ing sweet, I'm looking forward to seeing who's hiding behind the curtain, though... Are people still thinking Fury is involved in all of this?

I don't see Fury being involved, but it would be interesting if it was. It would be sweet if Brubaker was making his own little miniverse with Winter Soldier, Fury, Daredevil etc.

I don't think its Fury, what would be his motive for hurting Matt?

I have two theories at this point:

1) Purple Man has pheromone based mind control powers. It would would be easy for him to get a chemist to change some of his pheromones from direct mind control to seduction based and then have Lilly use them. Now there are a few problems, last I heard PM was in Canada and was healthy, plus it seems he could just mind control Lilly rather than trick her.

2) Larry Cranston aka Mr. Fear III. His nephew Alan ***an was able to distill a pheromone from his fear gas that would make him (almost) irresistible to women. Want to bet Cranston could do the same thing? Cranston could have created seduction based pheromones, given to Lilly so she would mess with Matt's head. Cranston hasn't been seen since 1998, so he could have gotten sick in that time, plus Cranston has been nursing a grudge against Matt for a long while now and has engaged schemes to hurt Matt before (framing Karen Page for murder).

Both of this characters have the means and the motive to pull this off, but which one had the better opportunity?

I am very excited to see who is behind this.

Me too. I honestly don't even have a clue other than maybe it's someone with mind control powers...not sure how I would feel about Purple Man, but whomever it is, if Brubaker can make a loser character like that cool like he did Tombstone, I'm all for it.

This is seriously Marvel's best book. I feel sorry for anyone not reading it.

Purple man has already been a great villain since he was revamped in Alias (PM went from a lame hypno villain to a psychotic, border line nihilistic rapist). There are no bad characters, only bad writers (except Stilt-Man:D). Plus this interview from brubaker states that Brubaker will use and likely revamp other "lame" DD villains:

However the mastermind may not Killgrave, Purple Man is in Canada at the moment. It could be Larry Cranston aka Mr. Fear III, he is still alive and he can produce pheromone chemicals and has a major grudge against DD. Either he or PM are my leading suspects at the moment.

Hey guys, I don't mean to interrupt your thread 9I don't read the series), but do any of you know if Daredevil 20-25 are reprinted anywhere? I was looking over the trades (and just ordered the new printing of the first hardcover) and they don't seem to be anywhere.

Any particular reason? Any idea if they're going to do new printings of all the HCs to reprint the series in order?

I hate all this skipping around stuff.

They're no collected and pretty much a waste... you can only get them in singles. It was during a time when the series was between writers.

I see now, it's the Bob Gale story (comics.org wouldn't load so I could check). I forgot all about that.

I'd still prefer the oversized HCs to be comprehensive collections, though now I could at least see why these were left out.

Still doesn't explain why 16-19 are in vol. 4, but I at least they're in there somewhere.

A summary please!!!! :x

Okay, I will do my best:

Issue starts with DD talking about his super senses were both a blessing and a curse as a kid, his sense of hearing and smell would overload him before his training with Stick allowed him to block that background noise and smells, but his super seneses can still be a weakness as well as a strength. Matt talks about how he has been off his game because Lilly smells like Karen, but he is on to her and realizes she is part of the cabal of enemeis working against him, DD realizes this when he heard that Tombstone was working for a woman and dedeuced that woman was Lilly.

So DD shadows Tombstone for a while comes upon Tombstone collecting the "kidnapped" Lilly and driving her a meeting spot with Matador and some gangsters. Lilly pretends to be innocent hostage, but Matt can see through her. Instead of following Lilly's script DD sneaks up, takes out the gangsters and whacks Tombstone from behind. When Lilly tries to say something, DD slaps her. Matador and Tombstone attack DD, DD uses his superior speed and agility to avoid Matador, but Tombstone is able to get some licks in, however DD starting using Tombstone's speed and stength against him, tricking him into hitting his hand against a wall. DD also tricks Matador into slashing Tombstone with his sword, jumping out of the way of Matador's strike at the last second. Matt jumps away and Tombstone pulls out a gun. Tombstone heads to where Matt landed preparing to shoot him. However DD has grabbed a hammer and knocks Tombstone out with it.

Then Matador grabs Lilly and threatens to kill her. Lilly seems to be geniunely scared, but DD still thinks she is faking. Matador starts to cut and draw blood on Lilly's neck. However then the Matador freaks out and says he can't go through with the plan to kill her, because he is in love with her. Lilly calls Matador a idiot and rejects him. Then DD knocks him out.

Lilly tries to play innocent victim again, but Matt sees through it, stating that she had her father killed to get control of his criminal empire and demands the truth. Matt tells Lilly that they planned on killing her all along, because she remineded him of Karen and the criminals wanted to kill Lilly right in front of him so he would relive Karen's death.

Lilly decides to reveal everything she knows so DD would capture those who betrayed her. It is revealed that the mastermind gave Lilly a bottle of perfumed laced with pheromones that would allow her to influence men (which is why she smelled like Karen). We don't see the rest of conversation regarding the details Lilly reveals about DD's tormentor, but we do see DD's reaction: he feels like someone has stabbed him in the back.

That's the issue.

This is why I think either Mr. Fear (Larry Cranston) or Purple Man are behind this, both have acess mind altering pheromones, Purple Man's powers come pheromones and Alan ***an was distill a pheromone from the fear gas that would make him (almost) irresistible to women, want to bet his uncle could do the same thing and have to work on men. Both have a grudge against DD and have the desire to inflict maximin emotional damage on DD. Killgrave is a sadist psychopath, who hates super heroes, especially ones who have defeat him in the past, while Cranston has dedicated his life towards getting revenge on Matt. Both would be willing to hurt matt and have the means and motive to doso. Unless Brubaker throws a curve ball, that's who I would bet on.

Thank you. That last line seems interesting sounds like Matt realizes it's a friend manipulating him? If it's an old enemy, I'm hopeing for one of the Mr. Fear's.

I'm going to my LCS tommorrow to buy all the Bendis hardcovers for 45% off each. I already own volume 1, and I was told Volume 2 wasn't worth buying, as it was just a reprint.

I already read one of the Bendis TPBs from near the end of his run. This is one of the best books I have ever read.

Ever

Well, there are two versions of the first Hardcover. The first one is missing one issue (12, I think, maybe?), while the second version has all the issues from 1-15.

I would be very careful about checking before buying, unless you don't care about that issue and can get the first printing very cheap.
