I liked the movie....

Though to this day I wonder why its called "Final Fantasy" as it doesn't have that feel that it belongs in the world of the franchise.

If my whole family hadnt been sick itwould have been better, but it was still fantastic.

I got-

Video Games:

A Daxter Limited Edition PSP set
A 4 GB Memory Stick For PSP
Lego Star Wars 2
Star Wars Battlefront :Renegade Squadron
Resident Evil: The Umbrella Chronicles
Sonic and Mario at the Olympic Games
and a few import psp games (bomberman, anyone?)

DVDS:
Stranger Than Fiction
Short Circuit (you all know you love it)
The Manchurian Candidate (Denzel version)
Blood Diamond
Family Guy Volume 4

Other Stuff:
A few comics (not many, just filled a few holes)
A nice speaker system for my computer (my room is now a complete home theatre)

Pretty good haul this year.
Hope everyone else's Christmases were great too!

I was really bored with it, and fell asleep a quarter the way through it. I hate when the FF series leans towards Sci-Fi more than Fantasy.

Doesn't the franchise make it a point to NOT have one world?

That said, I never understood what the fundamental complaints made against the movie --- that it's 'boring' or too 'serious' or too 'American' --- have nothing to do with it being un-Final Fantasy-ish.

To me, the missing things are chocobos, moogles and a bad-*** limit break.

DEAR GOD WHY!?

I remember thinking it was okay and kinda pretty to look at. Of course, that was many years ago. I'm curious to see if it still holds up. I kind of figured i wouldn't ever get it for myself but i'd throw it on the amazon wish list and i'd enjoy it as a gift. my eeeeevil plan has worked.

Cute. :D

And I hope everyone at your place is feeling better.

Thanks. We are for the most part. But my wife and I are still recovering and are pretty zapped. The kids went to the doctor so they are much better. But we're still run down.

It was definitely the most miserable Christmas I think I've ever had.

That's not what I meant.

I mean that when you play all the games, they feel connected in a way even though they're really not- probably because of the type of world it takes place in. Too actual-word-ish, where as the games they're far from it.

Two new sets of Prismacolor pencils. (Those of you who are into art know how awesome that is.)
A new watercolor set.
A new watch.
"There's My Chippy!" t-shirt from timanderic.com. (With highly disturbing, autographed photo!)
Cranium "WOW" board game.

moony always gets the best Xmas haul (I remember last year's, still). But DSF comes in a close second.

I spent Christmas at my sister's playing Guitar Hero and then we watched Hairspray, but I left halfway through it to go to MILF's and watch Heroes, which I bought her family for Christmas.
