I'm mad that I didn't get an AD reference the other day.

In that "Worst Band Names of 07" article I put up in the music thread, it said that the first line of 'The ***** Pirates' bio was

"FIRST OFF WE'RE AN IDEAS BAND. I THINK WE PROVED THAT WITH **** MOUNTAIN."

I for some reason forgot that that was what Gob says to Michael (with 'man' instead of 'band') when he's pitching development ideas to Stan Sitwell.

I'm so disappointed in myself.

I have just finished Season 2. I love this show. It's fantastic. I will buy Season 3 tomorrow.

I want to write comedy just for Will Arnett.
 
THANK GOD! I was all ready to hate Cera for not doing the movie, but now he's okay in my books again, even if he does play George Michael in every movie he's in. It's about time the greatest sitcom of all time got a movie!
 
Don't thank god until the confirmation. The assertion that this movie will be done by the end of the year is Bull****. Cera just started shooting Scott Pilgrim, and he's working on 3 other movies due to come out over the course of the year... I mean, there's time, but I wouldn't hold your breath until you hear it coming from a producer and not an actor.
 
I know. It's just difficult not to be excited. But you're right - best to wait until someone who hasn't been making **** up about the movie for the past year to tell us it's happening before we celebrate (as much as I love Tambor, he doesn't exactly have a history of waiting until there's real confirmation to start spreading the "good news" about anything).
 
So, I finally started watching this show.

And I finished it today. :cry:

It's one of the best sitcoms I've ever seen. The last time I loved a sitcom like this was probably THE SIMPSONS. I'm probably just going to watch the entire show from the start again.

There was a BIG problem with the show, that I couldn't get past.

Portia de Rossi.

Now, I know some of you will say that she was good and funny and what not. And I agree she was.

She's also very, very sexy. And a lesbian. And married.

I have more chance with Giganta. COME ON!

In all seriousness, the show and everyone in it was fantastic. Even the smaller roles like Henry Winkler's lawyer were brilliant. It was also remarkably smart and showed better foresight in long-running plot lines (MR F and GOB dating Anne for example) than other shows that make a living off being 'thought out'. In other words, ARRESTED DEVELOPMENT, a 20-minute sitcom, has better arc-plotting than hour-long dramas based on the structure such as LOST, FRINGE, and HEROES.

What a terrific show. I look forward to the movie.

And more of Will Arnett. Dear God, that man made me laugh so hard.
 
Since my friends had never seen it, I used to take the DVDs to school and we'd watch them in the Visual Art Design class because it was rubbish. I believe one of them has now gone out and bought the DVDs and another one is going to.

And yes, Will Arnett is amazing. I want to write a comedy just for him.
 
"Bob Loblaw" is probably the funniest thing ever put on television.

The best are all the subtle references that Buster is going to lose his hand... Like when he wins the stuffed seal with the "Good Luck" t-shirt, and the time the narrator makes a specific mention about Buster getting "Hooked" with all the emphasis placed on hooked. And when he finds his hand chair early in season two, he says, "I never thought I'd miss a hand so much"... Heh.

Whatever image you posted isn't showing up for me... but I'm guessing it's the AD characters animated in the style of the Simpsons that's recently making the internet rounds?

Michael Cera is doing the talk show circuit this week for Year One. Let's hope everyone asks him about the AD movie so things can finally start to get moving! :D
