Calvin and Hobbes is excellent.

I remember when I was younger, people would mistake Red and Rover (a rip-off in the funny papers that continues today) for Calvin and Hobbes. It was a major pet peeve of mine, especially when some of them ought to have known better.

...I'd complain about childhood rape, but that seems pretty in character for the tiger.
