24- The Bauer Power Hour series discussion (spoilers)

Re: 24- The Bauer Hour series discussion (spoilers)

I've just finished watching season 4 on DVD which means I have officially seen every 24 episode there is. Woot!

I only got hooked when Season 5 started with blast, showing 4 episode in 2 weeks. This show is better when you can watch it intensively, I think. So I bought season 1 & 2, loved it, lent them to a friend with unlimited internet bandwidth. He got hooked and downloaded 3 & 4.

He'd lend them to me on burned DVDs by batch of 6 episode and during season 4 I'd ask him every time he brought a DVD from that season : WHERE ARE THE CHINESE?!? He'd say, The chinese? I said, those who... Have you finished watching season 5? No? Never mind. By the last 6 episode I was foaming at the mouth. CHINESE! CHINESE! WHERE ARE THE DAMN CHINESE!

Anyway, I had to watch the whole season 4 before 2 days later it finally hit me :

Habib Marwan was the Mummy! I knew he was evil.

Another thing that hit me later about that character is that Habib Marwan is an arabic name, and he speaks arabic, but he's supposed to be Turkish. Damn, I should have known that on the spot but the show moves so fast that any inconsistencies get brushed over. Your brain says : "Wait a minute! That doesn't make sen... Oh, Bauer killed somebody else! Bauer is the man!" Let's not even get into the techno-babble. I suspect a good portion of it to be bogus but they throw so much at us in between cliffhangers and gunfights that you just hang on to your seatbelt. Wee!

There's something special about knowing that you've seen every episode of 24. Instead of being one of those fans who comes in at like Season 3 or 4 and doesn't bother with what happened in any earlier seasons.

It's like eating a dozen fresh Krispy Kremes in one sitting......that's a special feeling that no one will be able to take away from you. And for those of you who mock the feats of eating 12 donuts in one sitting-----lemme tell you something----these are Krispy Kremes.......FRESH HOT Krispy Kremes. Do you even have the slightest idea how MUCH sugar and sweets that is?!?!?! The mere fact that you didn't slip into a diabetic coma is a miracle unto itself. I'll be damned if anyone tries to take---ok...wait....sorry. Kinda got carried away there for a sec.

Yeah....plus you can really see the difference in the show from when they started and up to now. It just gets more and more outrageous with each hour and they just start throwing random twists and sit at you and before you can handle the validity of it all----Jack shoots her in the leg. He SHOT her in the leg!!!!

I cannot wait for the next season. I'd kill a man in cold blood---right now...no questions asked---for a new episode of 24 tonight.

Marwan was awesome....but he'll never be as awesome as Nina Myers. No one will. Even Robocop bit it in the end. Nina was evil ***** pure and simple.

FACT - 3 greatest characters in the history of 24, that are NOT Jack Bauer are:
  • Nina (She's like Skeletor's Sorceress and Destro's Baroness all rolled up in one)
  • Behrooz (just for the name man......BAY-ROOOOOOOOZ!!!!!)
  • Curtis Manning (Tony Almeida can't even mess with this man----and I loved Tony!!!)

Re: 24- The Bauer Hour series discussion (spoilers)

We've all seen every episode....but...

HAVE WE ALL READ THE BOOK, "FINDINGS OF 24"?!?!?!

I can't remember where it took place exactly, but it was either in between seasons 1 and 2, or 2 and 3.

Re: 24- The Bauer Hour series discussion (spoilers)

Oh yeah, well,

HAVE YOU PLAYED THE GAME!?!?!

Seriously, have you? I haven't, I wonder if it's any good.

Eh. We have more in common than I thought. 24, Krispy Kremes, comics, I'm also a good shot with an assault rifle...

But I'm not a mean drunk, just so you know.

I didn't even know there was a book. Looks like I got something to look for when I hit the bookstore tomorrow.

I have....and it's the closest thing to the TV show I've played. It really is awesome!!!! Check out the thread I have in the video game forum for my opinions.

But I'm from Montréal. 25% odds that I have Irish blood if I decide to check seriously into my genealogy. Saint Patrick is the second biggest parade after the National parade over here.

Do you know the song "Kiss my Irish ***"? If not, download. You can't claim to get Irish Drunk if you don't know that song!

Oh the church bells are ringing in the school yard
And we all went out those days
The bully said Mac would fancy a rumble
I said yes, it's time to play

Oh the nuns and the priests they grabbed the rosaries
As they pulled pur bodies apart
The bully said Mac you lost the fight but you gained my respect
You fight with so much heart

We're stubborn as mules with our blood on fire
When we ain't at sunday mass
We'll look any man straight in the eyes and say
Kiss my Irish ***, you better kiss my Irish ***!

I love that song.

24 - TPB

I'm ordering the novels though. I can't find them in any store.

Re: 24- The Bauer Hour series discussion (spoilers)

Yeah, IDW published the comic version. I had some of them, but the store where I was holding it at (in my friends file), those sons of bastards closed the store for good before I could make my buy!!! :x

This show really needs to have it's own comic book. You got 12 months....12 issues. Each issue can cover 2 hours time-frame (I only say that because getting 2 issues out a month seems pretty hectic and highly improbable).

So awesome.....

Or they can do it with 24 comics. Make it bi-monthly.

That'd be cool, too.

That's what I said....but don't you think that would be too strenuous on creators and publishers? Especially with a quality story?

Well, instead of cramming 2 hours in one issue, they can spread it out to 1 hour per issue. Sounds like an easier job to me.

Well yeah...I know my idea was 12 issues with 2 hours...but if they did a bi-monthly I would expect only 1 hour covered in each issue.

Right. Like I said. That to me sounds like an easier job for the creative team.

Re: 24- The Bauer Hour series discussion (spoilers)

Eh, that has caused me headaches in the past because in French it's the other way around.

monthly = mensuel, bimensuel = twice a month.

That sounds very 'women product-y'. :p

Anywhos:

Question: I am leaving on vacation next week and I need some 24 spoilers before I go! — Jordan Vanos

Ausiello: Major-*** prattle-poop! Spoke to exec producer Evan Katz at press tour, and the boss-man told me that somewhere between "18 months and two years" will have passed when Season 6 launches in January. He said the idea of picking up immediately where last season left off was "talked about, but it's always important to us for the characters to have traveled a certain amount of distance emotionally. You don't get a chance to do a lot of that during the course [of the season]. Also, the odds that two of the worst days [would occur] right next to each other stretches credulity a little bit." Meanwhile, the New York remote that I first told you about last month has been scrapped. A source close to the show informs me that the producers have rethought the first episode and have decided that they can get what they need in Los Angeles. Bummer. I was hoping we'd get to see Chloe try to hail cab during rush hour.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Question: It's time for 24 scoop! — Ben

Ausiello: Guess who Peter MacNicol beat out for the role of next season's big baddie? Here's a hint: MacNicol and this particular actor are TV casting directors' go-to guys when a part calls for a neurotic type. Here's another hint: His name is *a** *i**-***e*.

It should, both words come from the same latin root!

mensis = month in Latin.

Ashamed. ASHAMED.

How could you guys not post or have heard about the 2 Emmy's this show won. Keifer...I mean Jack Bauer winning Best Actor in a Drama series. HELLS YEAH. There was no music for him, cuz the academy knows better than even try to cut him off.

And then of course the show won Best Drama series. I sure clapped loud.

So proud...
