Okay, so... it states the name of the sword guy (Exor) is based off Excalibur (further implying the connection between the Mushroom World and Earth is intra-dimensional cuz why else would an inhabitant of the Mushroom World be named after something on Earth if travel between the two was scarce?) but Mario doesn't get the reference because swords don't exist in the Mushroom World... well, they clearly do, because Exor's there. I'd say swords are just very uncommon in the Mushroom World and non-existent in the Mushroom Kingdom (at least up until this point). Crisis averted...
Exor actually isn't from the mushroom world, he and the smithy gang are from another dimension iirc

Of course they are... I seem to remember cutlasses in a Mario game that takes place prior to RPG, probably Mario Land (fortunately, since that takes place in Sarasaland, the 'scarce in the Mushroom World, non-existent in the Mushroom Kingdom' theory still holds). Though, other than that, I don't think there are actually any games on the Mushroom World that have swords before RPG, so it's not as troublesome as it first seemed...

Those are just the years the games released, so that could be excused, but that just doesn't sit right with me... I guess you could say the DK Racing manual was retconned by DK Racing DS, which moved the game up the timeline due to Tiny Kong being fully matured. You'd have to move loads of DK games down by a few years otherwise, which messes with the overall timeline, so I can't do that. I'm leaning towards the idea of DK Racing DS retconning the manual...
Not a clean fix, but what if Diddy Kong Racing and Diddy Kong Racing DS are two distinct but very similar events instead of the same? There are some changes here and there, so it could work? So we place them in two spots and thus make both Tiny's age and Banjo's Timeline work?

This also doesn't work, because the genie in DK Racing is stated to have not been seen for 50 years. So, unless you wanna put DK Racing 50 years before the port...

Was that ever stated in game? I've found that fifty year reference in the N64 Game Manual, but I'm not sure if the fifty year reference is in anything related to the DS version. Might be wrong tho

Actually, I don’t know if it is referenced in the DS port… I’ll have to check that

Here’s a link to the destructoid article about it. I also have the image saved on my pc. If you want it I can upload it here.
I'm not really a fan of these types of Mario timelines, ones where they shove all the sports games into a "peace era" or whatever which kinda ignores the sports games with stories that still show Bowser as evil. And I also don't like putting Mario Land at the end because of the daisy thing, it's obvious to me that Nintendo doesn't see that as the ending and would never put Mario with Daisy and leaving peach, that's just not how they would handle things I feel, I think most people just do that because they want a firm "ending" to the Mario story which there just really isn't any.
