For context, you have the original 2003-2006 Death Note manga, and then the following: 2006-2007 Anime adaptation, which is arguably the most faithful of the adaptations, barring some changes in the second half such as 2006-2016 Live-Action movie/miniseries series, the first two movies...

And DON'T get me started on Death Note and all the various adaptations. There's too many to even count.

Whoever told you that had hot air coming out of their arse, because that's incorrect. The Toei anime is pretty much adapting the manga to near-perfection. I mean, if there's an anime adaptation of a manga, you can expect it to adapt the anime one-to-one (IE: JoJo's Bizarre Adventure, My Hero...

Also, not surprised that Captain Marvel or She-Hulk weren't teased, considering how divisive those two characters are with fans. Black Panther II, Yelena Belova and Ghost are better characters than those two.
