I believe The Gifted fits best before Logan (The New Mutants ->The Gifted -> Logan) The X-Men are referenced in The New Mutants as active but don't appear. The Gifted backstory is a reasonable match for Logan, where the X-Men are similarly famous but known to have mysteriously disappeared...
