Lost *spoilers*

I think it has some connection with the animals of the island because when the spiders were coming up to Nikki and Paulo (or however you spell his name), you could hear the chittering noise it makes.

Actually I think tht was just the score using a more spider inspired (for a lack of better words) music

Nope, it was Smokey. The Monster was depositing the three extra Medusa spiders because Nikki paralyzed Paolo.

And Goodwill, the guest stars for next week are
almost every Other there's been on the show at one point or another.
:)

The black smoke monster was definitely present when Nikki and Paulo were at each other... I heard the noise and Nikki and Paulo did, too, because they reacted to it. This thing is everywhere when we don't even know it.

Also, for next episode - here's hoping we see more of Ms. Klugh.

A good episode. A bad episode.

they kept it as vague as they possibly could... I thought tonight would have been a good way to get things out of the way, you know? Certain things were answered... Others were left gaping.

And another thing that put me off? I had faith in Juliet's character being a little bit better... Like, how predictable was it that she was still working for the Others? I wanted a change in sides, I wanted more tension between the Others and the Lostaways in sides losing numbers and what not... I mean, Locke left the Lostaways, but Juliet... Should've left the God damn Others!

I was literally yelling at my tv for Sayid to shoot the lying *****.

Great episode. I can't wait for next week's episode.

I loved that they brought up how no one on the island has cancer but Ben. This storyline about pregnant women is very interesting, especially since Ben said he was born on the island and Rousseau gave birth on the island. I really want to find out what the Others left to do.

Basically the episode was Juliette coming back to the camp with a flashback of how she came to be with the Others. She arrives at the camp and is conforted by everyone's fears. Jack says that he'll protect her. Very quickly after Juliette arrives at the camp Claire becomes ill, and Jack can't figure out what's wrong with her. Juliette says that Ethan was adminstering medication that Juliette had developed to keep her from dying during pregnancy, and that she's dying of withdrawal from the drug. Juliette runs into the woods and gets the case of the drug that Ethan used. After being confronted by Sawyer and Sayid, she runs back to the beach and saves Claire

In flashbacks, we find out that the reason she was brought to the island was because the women on the island are incapable of having children. The mother and fetus both die in the third trimester because the mother's body attacks the fetus. She spends the next several months performing research on pregnant women, all of whom die. She tells Ben that she wants to go home and be with her sister. Ben tells her that her sister's cancer is back and that she's going to die before her child is even born. Ben also promises that if Juliette will stay and continue her research that, he will cure her sister's cancer. Of course she agrees and the next we see of her she's finding out about Ben's cancer. She confronts Ben and accuses him of not curing her sister's cancer. He assures her that he did and shows her video of her sister still alive with her son. The last part of the flashback shows Ben telling Julliette that she's supposed to drag Kate into the woods and handcuff her. Then go back to the camp and save Clare and that he would meet up with her in one week.

Have the Others said anything about the castaways that a normal person couldn't find out through intensive research? It wouldn't take that much paperwork to figure out Sawyer's real name and Sayid's past and I bet the police figured out Sawyer shot that guy after the plane had taken off--he shows up, makes trouble and gets drunk, is seen near the place, maybe there's even documentation of him owning the gun, he leaves right after... pretty suspicious.

Ben must think they're so dumb. First he snuck in a couple of Others and it took them weeks to realize it. Then he wandered into their camp himself and even with Rosseau yelling about him being an Other, they still let him free. Then he sends in an Other who they KNOW is an Other and yet they STILL let her walk around. They're morons (although I guess they couldn't have known about Claire having an implant), especially Jack. "Gee, I know you want to get home more than anything, so that makes you one of us! Even though the only person who has a chance of getting you there is Ben."

I don't think the Other's have some mystical crystal ball that tells them about people. But there is more to them than meets the eye. Things like this do beg the question, when dealing with the Others, where does the mystery start and the deception end?

I'd like to mention how disappointed I am that Jack's turned into an absolute wank.

I've been rewatching the first season on DVD and I was surprised at how I'd forgotten that Jack used to be significantly badass. We even saw a throwback to this with his escape plan in the Fall finale.

Sadly, it seems that since then he's entropied into a state of total wankdom. Playing football and laughing it up with Tom "10-year-old-boy-napper" Friendly was bad enough, but the last straw for me was last night's episode when he was casually joking around about how Kate's just being stubborn about the whole Juliet drugging her and carrying her into the middle of the jungle thing, and Sayid's always paranoid(even around members of an extremely mysterious group of known kidnapper/murderers for some reason). Ha ha. No big deal or anything. They'll have settled down once we get back to the beach.

Excuse me, but BULL****. Add to that the whole "the fact that I trust her should be enough for you" crap and I'm beginning to find myself fantasising about Sayid and Sawyer(who would make an absolutely awesome partnership, especially given Sawyer's reformation) teaming up to take Jack and Juliet down for good, followed by an island wedding ceremony between Sawyer and Kate, ordained by Rose.

Of course, knowing Lost's penchant for too-good-to-be-true crowd-pleaser twists, I may be happily eating these words in future weeks.

There are a couple of things I find interesting... The Others reach the island by way of a submarine... It's not a very typical mode of transportation, now is it? I wonder what obstacles there are to getting to the island... If someone has to be put out for the duration of the trip, there is more to it than just a ride to an island... Do you think it's another Other ploy? Like, they made Juliet believe she was riding a submarine?

Also, this episode brings up a lot of questions about Ben... I'm interested in finding out his role on the island.

Some very interesting news on www.spoilerfix.com about Lost... Don't read unless you would liked to be SPOILED!

- An upcoming episode will
lack flashbacks and will focus on one of the mysteries established in Season One. The episode is entitled "The Brig"... Anyone else think it'll focus around the Black Rock?
Hmm...

- Afterwards, we'll get our
first Ben-centric
episode.

- The finale will deal with
our boy Jack
.
