Ultimate Spider-Man Animated Series

Arrgh. I want this to be good and to like it, and Dini certainly sweetens the deal, I just have such a hard time imagining how it could be better than The Spectacular Spider-Man. In my opinion, it wasn't just Spidey's BTAS moment(which is a title I'd still give the 90s Spidey cartoon in most ways), it was the best animated superhero series ever. Justice League is the most epic towards the end, but consistently, it was SSM, hands down. There's stuff that would've been fine for a USM show to do before that will now seem completely underwhelming by comparison.

I disagree. I think it certainly can be as good as SSM, maybe even better.

It certainly has the potential in any case and it has a great team behind it.

What if the get the cast of the Spectacular Spider-Man to come back or at least Josh Keaton (Peter Parker/Spider-Man), Vanessa Marshall (Mary Jane Watson), Steve Blum (Green Goblin/Blackie Gaxton/Chameleon), Joshua LeBar (Flash Thompson), Daran Norris (J. Jonah Jameson/John Jameson), John DiMaggio (Sandman/Hammer Head), Tricia Helfer (Black Cat) and Kevin Michael Richardson (Tombstone)?

Are you Wikipedia now? IMDB maybe?

Hey, it's remotly possible. Plus I know Josh Keaton had audition for Spider-Man and John DiMaggio in almost everything these days. At least those two are possible.

To be completely clear: however possible it is that they end up getting the same voice cast as another show, how on earth would that make USM actually as good as that other show? Why did you feel the need to post a ridiculously complete list of those actors? How on earth did you reach the conclusion that having Kevin Michael Richardson back as Tombstone or Steve Blum back as Blackie Gaxton would affect anybody's opinion of the new series, above story arcs and character development? Seriously, what are you talking about?

:sure:!

No it's not actually. Especially since they would want to have the show have it's own feel. It's far more likely that we will have a completely new voice cast.

It also has nothing to do with what Planet-Man was talking about anyway.

Anyway, back to what i said earlier. With the creative team behind the show, i'm sure it will be good.

I'm talking about the chemistry those actors have. Out of the SS cast they seemed to respond the best to each other. A show isn't good just because someone wrote a good script. It's also how well the actors react and play off each other. And I didn't mean to suggest that I wanted those actors to play those characters on this new show. I typed in those characters names to show who played what on The Spectacular Spider-Man. Not everyone here or visiting this site knews that Steve Blum played the Green Goblin, Blackie Gaxton and the Chameleon. And that Joshua LeBar played Flash Thompson on that show. I was trying to be considerate to others.

Test footage from C2E2. (Camera is a little shaky at times, but not bad.)

aaaaaand it's gone. I for one, did not see it.

Well, I can't find it anywhere else.

So basicly, Spider-Man is swinging though the city chasing some bad guy as you hear JJJ rant about masked vigilanties and how Spidey is the worst of them all. Fury calls spidey for a meeting. It all moves fast but, it seems losely based on the Ultimate comics. You do get to see MJ, she looks young but not High school young. and no Josh Keaton is not the voice of spidey.
