Ultimate Secret #2 Discussion (Spoilers)

Vision Vs. Ultron. No question who would win that one.

Nick Fury. He wins everything.

Don't listen to Ultimate E.... You're one of those anti-Nick Fury people aren't you... I suggest you find the poll/thread and vote...

But really Nick Fury's a good guy and not the big "american conspirator" you're hoping for.

Given that the Ultimate Vision has been tied into Galactus now, is it possible that Sam will rebuild the Vision into a certain surfboarding, silver-coated weapon to help protect the Earth?

Sorry I haven't been reading this thread much but: Is Mar Vehl truly a baddie? Is Marvel 616 bad? Cuz until this issue, I basically just assumed anyone with the same name as the company that makes the comics is good. :D

No way is he bad. He's trying to save the human race. Fury just got upset with him because Fury doesn't take ****.

Howdy. New here as well.
First, just have to praise this title. Personally, I love almost all things Ellis. Can't help it. But McNiven's art just blows me away. I was recommending Ultimates to my friends, but this series is probably gonna become the one I push now. (Of course, if they're not familiar with Ultimates anyways it'll be hard to follow).

Anyhoo, I missed out on Ultimate Nightmare. I've done as much research as I care to do and know about the Vision and all that, but what I'm wondering, is Vision Kree? Marvel called him a Herald... and I guess that means of Galactus. I'm just confused as to why Galactus would send someone to warn them that he was going to eat them. So is he up there with Firelord and Silver Surfer? In Nightmare, was there anything that could hint at him being a Kree device? That idea kind of intrigues me.
Oh, and if S.H.I.E.L.D. rebuilds him, is he still going to be twice the size of normal humans?

About Carol Danvers: Although the conversation did seem a bit forced, I'm wondering if that had more to do with advancing the story than her being a double-agent. She forced Marvel to reveal himself. If they had known each other, I would imagine she would accept one of his excuses so as not to expose herself.
But I'm new here. So I'm probably wrong

WELCOME! :D

I got the issue at long last and it was certainly worth it... Please, someone please make me an avatar of either Reed Richards from this issue or the Thor at the end...

The art was phenominal! I really like how McNiven ticks... He's got the most detail in one miniscule panel I've ever seen and fills the larger ones with plenty of all that good stuff, too. He's got a very good thing going on and I only hope he can keep up with it.

Now, for the story. Very interesting tie-in, however, I thought the tie in kind of fell flat. Where can this go after all of this? What does Fury have in mind for the Fantastic Four, Thor, and Iron Man? Some questions we need to consider... Where's Captain when we need a speculation thread made? ;) Knowing him, he would've made it three months early.

Anyway, what's the deal with the Native American deal... Did Warren Ellis just call that race of people aliens in the UU? What's going on?

Cree is a tribe of Native Americans

Kree (the Aliens), and Cree (the Humans) are Homonyms

<beat me to it, strangefate>
First, Cree is actually a tribe of native americans. When Marvel said "Kree", Danvers heard "Cree". Nice little joke. Made me giggle.

Deuce, the way I saw it, Thor and Iron Man are just the FF's escorts. I'm certain the rest of the Ultimates will be there next issue. Fury called in the FF because (assuming this takes place after the N-Zone thing, maybe) the FF have knowledge of extra-terrestrials. They have a super genius in Reed. If there were a gigantic alien invasion coming, I would probably get a bunch of the smart dudes together. And hey, if they had super-powers, they'd be the first I'd call, right?

Right, Right, and Right.

Are you new here? Welcome if I haven't done so.

I am new, and thanks to both you and Ice. This place seems great. I've been lurking for a few days. Alot of other message boards totally attack new members for some reason, so I was a bit hesitant to register, but whatever. I want to talk about comics. And this place seems like a good place to do it.
And I have a question. We mainly talk about Ultimate comics here, of course. Is there a sister message board where the mainline Marvel comics are discussed? Or is this kind of a separate entity type thing?

You can discuss both Ultimate comics and non-ultimate comics all in this board. Just look at the Discussion forum to see where to discuss the comic you want to talk about.

Yeah, but not like the heralds in 616. In 616 they work for Galactus to scout out new planets - Vision was running ahead of Galactus to warn the planet so they could prepare to defend themselves.

Anybody thought about that the Kree wants us (the humans) on this planet as bait for the big G? Ultimate G maybe just don't feed upon planets but all lifeforms that exist on them too (and maybe is even drawn to planets with intelligent life) and that's why they are trying to stop us from leaving the planet.

I guess you're right... Are we expecting fighting and stuff in the next two issues?
