There running out of Ideals. Its been like that for years. It was only a matter of time before that got to movies like this. I mean the next few years as far as I seen are full of these. Its full of remakes, games, tv shows, comic book, and sequels to movie that havn't had the last one on the big screen for years.
i know it just pisses me off. the "games, tv shows, comic book, and sequels to movie that havn't had the last one on the big screen for years." I'm ok with that. that's cool run with it as long they do it right. Hell even prequels are ok.
but remakes piss me off. Who wrote and/or directed the films that get remade are artists. Their hard work is art. Do people make money doing remakes of paintings for galleries? Remaking music annoys me too for the same reason.
the end of the day who ever created it originally put their heart and soul in to what they did. new people come along so a much much worse version and make money off it. people who do remakes are only doing it for money and it shows in their work.
You want to do a film with a teenage becoming a wolf? Do it but in a diffrent way and name it something else. I use to direct movies (not professionally just for festivals ect...) to try and become a director.
I'm a huge fan of Speilberg and if I had actually made it as a director I would of been influenced by his work yes. maybe even added little nods to his films as respect. I would not however go out and remake jaws or e.t or any of his other films as that imo is a huge disrespect for the artest.
these films are classics for a reason. You can not remake a classic. remaster it sure , re-release it sure, remake NO.
I know most of you will not agree with me on this but in my honest opinion all these remakes makes the cinema going experience less fun as its all about money money money.
now I mentioned willy wonka and batman begins as good remakes but what makes them good remakes is they were not remakes even if some count them as such. they were films based on the book or comic not original film.
As you all know I hate Peter Jackson's kong. Not going to discuss that movie again but I'm using it as an example. By making that film Peter Jackson basically spat in the face of Merian C. Cooper , Ernest B. Schoedsack and the rest who helped them
but yeah that is how badly I hate remakes and think the people who remake them are wrong for doing it. they may be great directors or what ever in other films and credit to them for that but remakes = easy way out and IMO when they do it during that film they stop been directors and more posers or "cowboy directors" as I call them and should be ashamed at they are doing to the industry they are supposed to be passionate about.
