ASM #677 & DD #8 were pretty good. But really there wasn't much resolution to the story. The only significant thing that happened is that now
Black Cat and DD are playmates.
And who knows if that will last past this one issue.
"I think this is my villain origin!"
ASM #678 was pretty cool though. It kind of reminded me of the show Early Edition (anyone remember that?)
The most interesting part for me though, was Peter briefly reconnecting with Bambi. I wonder if that's going to go anywhere.
Who's Bambi you ask? She used to live across the hall from Peter Parker before he got back together with and eventually married (or didn't, I guess) MJ back in the mid 80s. She and her two friends/roommates Randi and Candi were recurring minor characters (mostly in Spectacular Spider-Man if I remember correctly). Bambi is a single mother and she and Peter flirted a lot.

I felt the same way after I came back in the middle of Brand New Day. Not only did I jump back onboard, but I went back and bought all the back issues I had missed - which was like 12. I only quit for 4 months (3 issues a month back then) and it almost killed me.
The stories lately have been pretty disappointing, but I know Slott is good and I like things he's done in the past, so I just keep waiting for him to come back around.
I think the stories have been consistently good. There were a few dry patches (I'm looking at you Avengers Academy!) but the book is an enjoyable read over all!
#679 was pretty good. I hope Silver Sable is back around for a while. I'd like to see her face off with Sandman now that he's a villain again!
Just read ASM #679.1 It was decent. I liked the idea of
Morbius trying to help the Lizard
while struggling with his own issues. I'm looking forward to this "Ends of the Earth" story that's coming up though. Slott has been hitting it out of the park, and it just makes sense that the Sinister Six could be a global threat under Doc Ock's leadership.
