If anybody wants to see pretty much the best serious vampire movie ever, go out and rent Shadow of the Vampire, with John Malkovich and Willem Dafoe. You will not be disappointed.

It's REALLY interesting to watch in tandem with Murnau's original Nosferatu and Werner Herzog's Nosferatu the Vampyre. For my money, one of the best vampire movies (and my personal favorite take on the character) is Bram Stoker's Dracula. Gary Oldman is a beast of an actor.
