Comic buyers are 'habit-formers'. We all get books that were once good, and we hang onto, hoping they'll 'return to grace'. There's even some 'reinforcing' data around - comics like ASM or FF or Captain America have all had runs where they were awful, but rebounded to greatness (..and back.. and forth..). With comics that haven't been around for 40+ years, though (i.e. I liked issues 1-7, 8-11 were bad and 12-15 are absolutely awful), it sends a dangerous message: "Give us a reason to buy it once, and we'll buy it forever."
We only have ourselves to blame (in a sense) for Ultimates 3 and Ultimatum. We have to stop buying poop so that Joey Q and Loeb can't keep saying 'the numbers speak for themselves.'
Its easy for me to start this thread because that quote only a few months ago made me drop books like Ultimatum, Ultimate FF, Ultimate X-Men, Ultimate Spider-Man, New Avengers, Mighty Avengers, etc, and replace them with Umbrella Academy, Incognito, Invincible, Walking Dead, etc. I'll need a new purge someday, but until recently, my pull list was growing 'inefficiently'.
So - (honesty time I've revealed a recent list in bold ) What comic are you still getting, knowing that you probably shouldn't?
