Was Batmans newly formed yellow logo a 60s influence and why has it been out of favor for so long?

The 60s is characterized by bright colors, and since the logo was changed in that time it stands to reason that it was indeed a cultural influence.

Why is not present in any Batman comics since The killing joke?

It was created in the 1960's as part of a new look to Batman. However over the years it has gone out of favor as his overall aesthetic is intended to be one of darkness and seriousness so the bright yellow oval no longer fits. That said, there does tend to still be yellow highlights used in various ways.

That is not even close to the truth. The Killing Joke comic came out in 1988. It was still part of the standard costume to have the yellow oval until around the year 2000. https://www.hatchwise.com/resources/the-history-of-the-batman-logo

The main reason the yellow oval was added in 1964 was so DC could trademark it legally. Otherwise a black bat is a symbol anyone can use. A big part of the characters history had that symbol. Based on tv, movies, and animation which more people see than read comics, more appearances with oval than without.

In the late 80s DC had the Legends of the Dark Knight comic usually with stories of Batman's early years. Having no oval was a way of showing it was the past.

Eliminating it is seen as a way of making the costume more realistic. A guy in a batsuit... sure.., a simple yellow oval kills the realism. I am being sarcastic.

To me it has removed the evolution of the character. I surprised DC has not kept the official logo with the curved wings but no logo. Some of the better artists use to do that even without yellow oval in flashbacks And early stories. At least, the Bat shape was still iconic.
