This is the The Amazing Spider-Man Timeline. It includes a chronological breakdown of the ASM movies (and comics and articles from the Daily Bugle blog):

The movies are broken down by DVD/Blu-Ray chapter, and sometimes even the chapters are broken into subsequent sections to allow for passage of time or insertion of events from other movies or canon comic books and articles. Movies yet to be released on DVD are placed tentatively.

Also, tentative placements for upcoming movies are included:

The Amazing Spider-Man 2

Also included are the canon comic stories, specifically:

The Amazing Spider-Man #1-2
The Amazing Spider-Man - Cinematic Infinite Comic #1
The Amazing Spider-Man Movie Adaptation #1-2**

The spin-off video games are concidered non-canon and are not included.

Everything is color-coded based on the characters: Spider-Man entries are dark red, and Daily Bugle entries are black.

DVD chapters of the films are bolded and comics and articles are italicized.

Anything marked with a ** is placed tentatively until its official release (in cases of the movies, their release on DVD, and in cases of TV episodes, until at least their air date).

Also a very special thanks to DIrishB (THE Real Timeline Guy) for his work and motivation to do this timeline.

About The Amazing Spider-Man in the MCU:

Nothing has been denied yet, but each talk about it, is always alluded or vague.

Here are tidbits about the connexion:

* Sony has the movie rights, when Marvel has all the rest (tv show, comics and merchandising).

* The Oscorp Tower should be seen in The Avengers, but for lack of time, it didn't be integrated in the final cut.

* The Oscorp Tower can be seen in the background of a Lego box about The Avengers movie, with Iron Man.

* Will Corona Pilgrim, one of the creator of the MCU, and particularly on all about MCU books, is thanks in the The Amazing Spider-Man #1-2, and The Amazing Spider-Man - Cinematic Infinite Comic #1.

* The Amazing Spider-Man could totally work in the MCU as the movie, like the MCU, is based on a science world. It could also be integrated perfectly in the MCU timeline as it could happen a few months after The Avengers: we can see a lot of cranes working on buildings (nod to The Battle of New York?).

* There is a reference to "With great power come [great responsability]" in the first episode of the first season of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.

* There is a mid-credits scene in TASM (another nod to the MCU movies?)

Say what now? I remember the "with great power come a lot of weird stuff" line but not this. Good work though France.

Awesome, Cap! I've done a basic version of this but hadn't bought the DVD yet to break it down by chapters. Very nicely done.

Glad you like it :)
And hope you don't mind to have taken your words of your second post of the MCU timeline... but as it's a little brother topic of yours, I didn't wanted to take all the benefices. ;)

All, feel free to contribute and if you have question, you're welcome.

Wanted to ask, Cap, are you sure the flashback scenes with Peter's parents in ASM take place in Nov, 1999? I only ask because the Daily Bugle tumbler articles (which may or may not be canon, but they are setting up a lot of stuff that's supposed to be addressed in the later films) place themselves between late 2012 and up to April, 2014. This means Peter and Gwen will graduate high school (shown in ASM2) in May or June, 2014. This likely means they're 18 (possibly 17), placing their birth years around 1996-1997. I can't remember specifically how old Peter was meant to be in those flashback scenes (I think it was about 5-6 years old), likely placing those flashback scenes in the early 2000's, specifically sometime between 2001-2003). What's your thoughts on that?

1999-11-05 is written on the Oscorp file of Richard Parker:

I'm assuming it was the most recent file he was working on and that Peter saw his parents for the last time on this month.

The Daily Bugle articles are a complete mess with the dates in the movie... even between articles sometimes!

I'm waiting to watch TASM 2, but I'm not hurry to see it.. maybe because I have a feeling it will be a lot like Spider-Man 3.. and hope secretly to see Spidey leaving Sony to join the MCU.

Ah ok. However, if we make the assumption that Peter's parents left in 1999, with the fact they graduate high school in ASM2, we would then have to assume ASM2 occurs in May/June, 2012 (at least the graduation part), with ASM1 occurring in late 2011.

I think it's more likely the file wasn't necessarily reflective of the current time Peter's parents left, but more likely one of the more important aspects of their research (despite all the "failure" listings). Perhaps even proof of Norman Osborn's attempts to weaponize their research.

Just checked IMDB's cast listing, and it shows the actor who played Peter in the flashback scenes was playing Peter Parker, age 4. So if the 1999 date is accurate, that places Peter being born in 1995. That'd make him 19 years old when he graduates. Peter is a smart kid so I wasn't inclined to think he'd been held back, but perhaps his parents' death led to him being distracted and held back a year in his early years at school, kindergarten or first grade (since that would've happened within a year or two after his parents' death).

I've read reviews of TASM 2 (mostly the movie is really bad and a Spider-Man 3 clone) and there are some dates in:

- Richard & Mary Parker left Peter when he was 6.
- Peter and Harry know each other for 14 years, they meet when they were 6.
- They have 20 in TASM 2, which occurs in 2014.

So Peter and Gwen are 18 in TASM, Peter is born in 1994, and the flashback is really in the end of 1999 or in 2000.

But they graduate high school in ASM2, towards the beginning, don't they?

lol what... maybe there is a 2 years gap just after the graduation? :/

EDIT: I just saw it and I didn't like it.. It was worse than the first.. and I don't think I will continue this timeline.

All the big moments were already in the trailers! Even the end! The rest of the movie is pointless and very boring... I was waiting for something entertaining but it never came :/

It's like the season 2 of Arrow.. I tried to like it but all episodes are 99% blabla and only 1-2 minutes of actions. I miss the first season :s

Did the Daily Bugle blog posts do anything in the long run? I wasn't reading them.

They expanded the universe with the posts, but you'd only really get something out of it if you know anything about Spider-Man. Like one of their posts was about Cletus Kasady getting arrested.

Well, I'm still going to see it. Seems most of the people ripping it apart, are the hardcore fan boys. I have a hard time listening to people that enjoy looking for every possible mistake. And are only satisfied when a movie is pure gold and lives up to their every expectation.

Much like Spider-Man 3 and Green Lantern this movie fails on a storytelling level.

Yep, this movie is a clone of Spider-Man 3 (maybe worse), just replace:

Sandman => Electro
Venom => Green Goblin

Rhino doesn't count as he has the same screen time we already saw in the trailers. (big max 2 minutes)

And I'm not a spider-man fan..
