I reserved my copy a while ago. This week I realized that when Armagedon comes out on the PS2 monday oct 9th it will be columbus day. does anyone know if video game stores are open on columbus day?
Oh yeah and for you x-box fans it will be delayed a week

yeah it sucks that he's using judo him and mokap are the only characters using two hand to hand styles so far

did you see smokes new teleport? where he falls back and dissapears in a cloud of smoke and appears behind the opp.? that looked soo cool!

noob still has monkey and his second style hasn't been shown yet his vs. screen pose has him holding a shuriken but i doubt that would be his weapon i would absolutely love it if he had his scythe from MK4

Yeah, Smoke's 2nd teleport does look awesome.

But I'm wondering if he only has those 3 moves? "Stinky Cloud," "Smokey Cut," and his new teleport. I hope he has some kind of long-range projectile.

And personally, I hated Aikido, Judo, Sambo, and Wrestling. I'm trying to punch my opponent or do a combo, and I end up throwing them. And if I was fighting someone with one of those styles, 70% of the match was me getting thrown. Pissed me off!!!
I hope Smoke's the only one with one of the big-bad-four. If not, I hope they replaced the grapple button with an actual strike.

I really wonder what Noob Saibot's special moves are. If he only has the two he had from MK

, he's gonna really suck.

midway has released another 30 or so rounds of footage available to see on their character pages at mkarmageddon.com

highlights

noob is just noob no saibot, he has a troll hammer (wtf?) and his specials that were shown were ; he throws 3 shurikens alot faster than reiko's, teleport slam (UMK3), and a black hole move that makes his opponenet teleport right in front of him for an easy hit

meat has a 24% damage grapple, cleavers, a recovery move where he pulls on his eye and he recovers about 10%, and a teleport like smokes but he falls face first into the ground dissapearing into a puddle of blood and appearing on the other side

cyrax still doesn't have his net but his cyclone kicks has a fire effect, and he has his MK3 teleport where he blows up into pieces and reassembles on the other side

kung lao has his MK2 teleport

kano has a neijin power-up, and a charge move

hsu hao has a neijin power up

mavado has some new chain moves

theres more but im drawing a blank

just 4 days until release!!

i hope this goes on the 360's backwards compatible list because I really want this game.

With create a character hopefully i can make my fave character

reptile. I know he's in but I loved his old costume the green version of scopion and subzero

you do know they changed his regular costume to his MKSM one right? it's essentially the same thing as the old ninja ones but his skins all scaley

the only pics i've seen he still has a lizard face.

I know its not a huge deal to alot of people but I just prefured hi when he looked just sub zero and scorpion. I felt he was a much cooler character than the Gex reject.

It's like sub zero was cooler (no pun intended) he was original sub zero not the shredder wannabe.

I love mortal kombat have since it came out but I think they change characters for the worse.

it's not coming out till the 20th for xbox

*EDIT* MKA has been reviewed by two sites gamesdaily gave it 4.5/5 and gamesradar gave it 9/10 things are looking good just 2 more days ....just 2 more days...just 2 more days

because it's not his original self.

Imagin mario coming out with a game where his costume was now a red pimp hat. he had on blue and red fur coats and carried a cane. Sure he still has mustash and mario moves but its just too diffrent.

I felt the shredder sub zero was cool but TOO diffrent.

Now its one thing to change a character if its an alt reality e.g ultimate marvel. But if its a sequel doing it is just wrong.

Times change man but maybe he changed because he felt he was safer and he could relax now. Sounds good to me.

A) he's not the original sub-zero noob saibot is
B) it was his cryomancer armour that he wore because his old suit was wrecked when he found the temple of his ancestors
C) his main suit in MKA is his MKDA alt. and his alt is his MKD primary
D) characters need to be updated or else alot of the characters would have burnt out (moreso)

I know all that it still does not change how I feel.

as for d) look at comic books most costumes stay true to the orginal while only updating slowly over time. Or games look at street fighter ryu ect... hardley changed at all and it is the greatest fighting game of all time.

as for streetfighter there has only been like 3 games and everything else has been updates, packages, and variations of those 3 games im sure if street fighter went to full 3D (EX3 doesn't count) and had gone through 7 real sequels the characters looks would be updated aswell

Ok fine street fighter was a bad example. how about Sonic? Mario ? snake from mgs?

the point I was making is its possible to update characters while not completly going over board.

look at mario on the Wii's super smash bros. He looks new , gritty , darker but yet he is still the same as the original

spider-man in the movies his costume is diffrent to the original spidey costume with the webs but yet it's a more realistic verson but still true to the original at same time.

but I will stop as i think neither of us are going to see eye to eye on anything other than this:

the next year will be great for MK fans. Mortal Kombat: Armageddon (looks kick *** btw) and in 2007 there is Mortal Kombat devistation (might of mispelt but its the 3rd movie)
