Comes out in August. I enjoyed the 1st one. I felt it stayed true to the book with only a few minor changes. I'm understanding the 1st 30 minutes of part 2 will be based on the Hit Girl spinoff books and then go into the Kick Ass 2 story. From the trailers it looks they they follow the book closely as well.Jim Carrey is in this one and I'm not sure if that's good or bad. Then again I'm not a Nick Cage fan but he pulled off Big Daddy alright.

I thought the first one was pretty decent. I wouldn't see this in the theatre but I would check it out after it comes out of DVD.

Did you like the books?

I actually kind of did. They were good for what they were. They are borderline shock comics but I guess that's pretty much what most of Millar's creator-owned work is.

So are a lot of Garth Ennis' and Grant Morrison's creator-owned/independant works, just with an immeasurably higher level of quality and validity compared to most of Millar's more recent work.

You say borderline and I can agree with that. I think the shock value goes right to the point without being to over the top like say Jennifer Blood. The whole underlying premises is the "what if a nobody tried to be a superhero", and of course he's way on over his head. Most of the "shock" is Hit Girl. But I think she is used as a tool as to kind of make a can you believe this is happening thing? Red Mist/ Chris/ Mother****er is the opposite. What if a nobody was a super villain? What could he get away with?
