I read the first issue with reservation due to what I felt was a crappy lineup, but I'm glad to say I was wrong: this was pretty great. It just fit really well.

And it was certainly better than the main Fantastic Four book.

I don't really know how they are going to turn what should only be 4 (?) days into an ongoing series, but oh well.

4 minutes.

I was thinking about that, too. I figured that the FF book will be what happens while Reed and company are away, but like you said, how would so much happen really in 4 minutes, story wise? It gets confusing.

Still, Allred art pretty... :drooling:

I though something happens to Reed & the family and the get stick there longer. I remember reading that somewhere when the idea was first announced.

4 minutes, that's right.

That they got me wondering how they are going to do this is a pretty good success in my book. At least I care enough to wonder about it.

And yeah, I really like Allred's art. I am not sure I've ever read a book with his work in it before. It reminds me a lot of Jack Kirby...I just like that style.

You're kidding me, right guys?

There's clearly going to be an accident that keeps the old team from returning and forces the new guys to hold it together. How is that not the most obvious thing ever?

Anyway, I thought this book was great. There were a lot of characters to cover, but Fraction captured their voices expertly using little space. It was funny, quirky, and perfectly suited to Allred's art. One of the best books in the relaunch, full tilt.

P.S. I imagine Fraction's Mr. Fantastic in Stephen Colbert's voice.

I've picked up the first two issues mainly for Allred's art. Decent story. Not really digging Ms. Thing, but I love having Scott Lang back.

This is so brilliant: Matt Fraction's FF has been referencing the Lee and Kirby Fantastic Four in order:

I noticed it in the last issue and finally have had the time to put this together. It seems that the references start with FF 2 and from then on sequentially reference Fantastic Four.

So, FF2 has a references to Fantastic Four 1, FF3 has a reference to Fantastic Four 2, FF 4 has a reference to Fantastic Four 3, etc...

Just read #16. It is Fraction's last issue.

In it, Scott has discovered the true nature of Pym Particles and uses them to utterly and completely destroy Doom in a way I don't think I've ever seen or heard, physically, mentally, and emotionally. Pretty epic.

Plus he does something I've never seen before - removes Doom's armor and face mask and reveals the truth behind Doom's mask. It's pretty amazing.

It was a great issue. Now I feel like I need to re-read this and the significantly less-appealing Fantastic Four with Mark Bagley (ugh) and get the whole story.
