I haven't had a chance to see it yet, but it looks awesome, and getting great reviews.

Has anyone seen it yet?

It was the most fun I've had with the MCU since Guardians 3. My faith in the universe is still not restored completely though, I still feel the burnout of the recent media in the MCU being subpar to very bad. However the movie is very fun in itself, does a lot of fanservice and is completely enjoyable from start to finish, spiced with some very gruesome scenes that is honestly a breath of fresh air seeing in the MCU as I don't think it got this bloody since the Netflix series. Highly recommend it for veterans and those who just want to see a fun superhero movie as well.

Honestly, while my faith in the MCU isn't fully restored, I absolutely LOVED this movie. From the story and the characters, to the fanservice and the violence... it was all a blast to watch.

That said, not a fan of Wade and Vanessa having split up before the movie. And given a certain infamous writer (one that is rightfully a joke in the Spider-Man fandom) was involved in the film's writing, I blame him for this plot point existing.

Also why are Logan and Cable from different futures even though the dystopian elements were already setting up during the events of Logan

This is the "Which came first, the chicken or the egg" question I've seen brought up in timeline discussions akin to this.

Mutants are essentially in their last generation minus a very small, small percentage once Transigen eradicated the X-gene.
Still, Cable will have a daughter as he is one of the microscopic minority that can have mutant offspring. His future with Firefist came first. Only when that was undone, the events of Logan came to pass.

How Deadpool would reference the events of Logan in Deadpool 2, knowing the character, you can chalk up to cosmic knowledge, coincidence or insanity. That's his character.

Maybe Logan and Cables futures share similar elements

I feel like the deeper you look into it, you'll eventually be giving extra world-building details for the people who didn't go that deep into the planning process.

Maybe? Fact of the matter that the base explanation (see my post above) is enough and beyond that is unnecessary fluff. Whether or not Logan died in Cable's OG future doesn't matter because the base explanation provides enough ground to go off of, the rest is in our imaginations.
