I watched the first episode not knowing anything about the show other than that Ioan Gruffudd plays the lead. It ended up being Doctor Who meets Sherlock meets Bones. He plays a guy who dies but immediately comes back to life and he solves mysteries from an antquie shop while he tries to find the cure for his immortality curse by working in the NYC Morgue. His father is played by Judd Hirsch and also has the curse, Alana De La Garza plays the detective love interest, and Joel David Moore also works for the morgue. There's only two episodes but I am absolutely in love with this series and everyone should check it out.

I caught the second episode and enjoyed it. It puts a supernatural/comic book-like spin on the classic police procedural type shows.

One thing, though. Abe, Hirsh's character, isn't his father. He's actually his adopted son:

Wikipedia said:
Only antiquarian Abe (Judd Hirsch), whom Morgan and his former wife Abigail found as a newborn in a German concentration camp during World War II, knows that he is immortal. Morgan is stalked by a murderer who refers to himself only as "Adam" who has learned his secret, and claims to have the same "curse".

The second episode showed Abe doing a dating site thing and his profile contained a younger picture of him from what was obviously the 1970's, so he's obviously not immortal. I didn't see the first episode so maybe he introduced Abe as his father to cover up their actual relationship, but... He's not his father, and he's not immortal. Only Mr. Fantastic is. ;)

I had a brain fart. Hirch plays the dad on Numb3rs not this. I also watched it last night with a headache due to my neighbors smoking and had to step outside a lot for fresh air but I had people over so I couldn't pause it. I just assumed since he knew Gruffudd's secret he was immortal too. Still need to rewatch it to see what I missed and the second episode. It's not the most original show but it's still pretty good.

Yeah, Gruffudd's a charming leading man. He carries the show well. It made me wonder why he was so much less charming in the Fantastic Four movies, and then I realized it's because he wasn't using his British accent in the FF films. Cheerio!
