The Conjuring Universe - Timeline

The following is a timeline of "The Conjuring" shared cinematic universe which began in 2013, including all 4 currently released 'The Conjuring' movies, all 3 'Annabelle' movies, all 2 'The Nun' movies, Wolves at the Door, The Curse of La Llorona, short films and comics.

It's probably worth noting that the DCEU is sort of connected to this universe because of the Annabelle doll cameos in Shazam!, Aquaman and Shazam! Fury of the Gods, as well as the Atlantean key to Atlantis from Aquaman being hidden in the Warrens' Artifact Room in Annabelle Comes Home, as featured in this behind the scenes video.

The Conjuring says the Annabelle case was in 1968 however this has been retconned by later movies so the year has been ignored.

There are also a few duplicated time stamps because of Lorraine's visions.

The character Emma Glover appears in Lights Out (2016) and Shazam! but it’s so minor I do agree they don’t really need to be connected, maybe a multiverse doppelgänger thing if anyone really wants to think that much into it.

And yeah I agree the conjuring and dceu should be separate. The Annabelle dolls I like to just think of as merchandise. Like if there’s a Chucky doll in a shop in a movie it doesn’t mean those films are canon. I do kind of love the idea that the Warrens own something Atlantean though (as shown in this, )

I’d say it should be considered a little like the slasherverse, like they’re the same/similar universe if anyone wants to acknowledge all the easter eggs but ultimately the movies are their own thing and won’t ever properly cross over.

Well, David Sandberg approves of it. The character has the exact same role as a social worker. There's DC merchandise in Lights Out, which unintentionally fits funny enough.

It doesn't really matter though. It's not a DCEU movie, and it won't matter whether it's canon or not since it will never cross over beyond that one character.

Take that as you will. If it were the same universe, I take it it takes place in 2018. There's a poster for the Justice League, so retroactively it must take place after they form, probably quite a while after for there to be merchandise. It was filmed in June-August 2015. Let's assume that it takes place in that time of year, it would be set between Aquaman (May-June 2018) and Shazam! (December 2018).

It should be noted that there was supposed to be a Lights Out poster in Shazam!: Fury of the Gods, possibly suggesting that it is a fictional movie, but even if it was it would be different than the film we saw due to the Justice League references, plus Emma Glover would be both real and fictional. If we take them as connected, that would simply mean that an in-universe David Sandberg made an in-universe movie called Lights Out... except not really because the poster won't appear in the film.

Caged has a character played by Tony Amendola called warden Perez. This character shares a last name with his Conjuring role seen in Annabelle and The Curse of La Llorona, father Perez.

Could be a descendant, but personally I think they're unrelated and it's a nod. Perhaps we should ask one of the creatives or the actor himself. Not every reference is a connected universe.
