i'm with ricky. i thought it started out great and finished just so blah. there's some real unique writing oppurtunities with this book that aren't possible with other team books and i just wish it could have been handled so.

i got it. i paid more than the cover price but didn't mind. i thought it was fun and a good idea to do it whether the licensing rumors are true of not. i'd be interested to see if they would consider releasing the rest of the hollywood arc in this manner.

that's right, and i think that is going to be the deal with pym's team that millar said will be run out of his (pym's) apartment.

this was a great issue and the arc so far. bags' character design for carnage this time around is just infinitely better than before, and i'm sure it helps a ton that the writing and origin is infinitely better too. i can't understand people getting mad because gwen got offed. what do people...

well, that would be interesting but the whole point of the ultimate line is to get rid of all the time-hoping, alternate reality, cloneage going on. the day we get ultimate time-hopping is the day i quit reading ultimate books. :D

i read on the bendis board that man-thing is going to appear in one of the arcs, according to warren ellis. i didn't see him say it myself so who knows?

that's not quite what he's doing...i think ultimatee has it right and that carnage isn't exactly a suit like venom but a modified clone of peter, complete with spider-powers. he's not going to possess gwen, but i'm thinking he might kill her.

mark millar said in wizard 153 that in ultimates vol. 2 new super hero teams will crop up in europe and, more disturbingly, china. what regular marvel characters are chinese born or based? i think mandarin is, but a guy with magic rings doesn't seem like a good fit in the ultimate universe...

yeah, and i see the fantastic 4 as another "branch". where S.H.I.E.L.D. is like a mini-army, the fantastic 4/baxter building are like an R&D department.

one thing that bothers me about ultimate x-men is that the entire lineup, which has taken 40+ years to develop, has been introduced in about 3. i love the book, and i think that bendis does a great job writing it (as did millar for the most part), but it feels so rushed. the current new...
