My Bloody Valentine/Silent Night, Deadly Night - Timeline

This is the timeline for the My Bloody Valentine and Silent Night, Deadly Night film franchises.

Timeline Reasoning
My Bloody Valentine is set in 1981 due to it matching the days of the week and being twenty years after Harry Warden's original murders, which is worked out by that being one year after he was trapped in the mines, which can be dated 1960 due to the Valentine's Day cake.

Silent Night, Deadly Night (1984) very specifically sets itself in 1971, 1974 and 1984. Billy Chapman survives the events of this film to appear in the comic sequels.

Silent Night, Deadly Night vs. Valentine Bluffs Massacre #1 places itself in 1986.

Silent Night, Deadly Night Part 2 has contradictory dates regarding Ricky's age. I have interpreted his age in the present day to be 18 based on his statements in the film. In 1985, he says he's 12. He's actually 15. Five years later is 1990. One year later, in 1991, he says he's 18. If we ignore the five years, that makes it two years, so he's 17 in 1987 and 18 in 1988. This is supported by the Ricky Today short, where he says he stated working at 17. Silent Night, Deadly Night (1984) is shown playing at the cinema as an in-universe film.

Silent Night, Deadly Night 4: Initiation has a December 22, 1989 date early on in the film. Silent Night, Deadly Night 3: Better Watch Out! is watched as an in-universe film despite it not having occurred in real life yet.

Silent Night, Deadly Night 5: The Toy Maker has a newspaper indicating that it's set at the earliest in 1991. Lonnie from the previous film appears to not have aged that much. Silent Night, Deadly Night 4: Initiation is watched as an in-universe film, interestingly at the point when the third film was being watched within that installment.

Silent Night, Deadly Night 3: Better Watch Out! is set six years after Silent Night, Deadly Night Part 2. It can be assumed that Ricky got the top of his head shot off shortly after that film, having got up after we saw his eyes open. Ricky now has the last name "Caldwell". Despite being impaled, Ricky is implied to be the still living body that was recovered by the ambulance crew, which is proven true by his future appearances in Ricky Today - The Caldwell Interview and Silent Night, Deadly Night #1-4.

Silent Night, Deadly Night: Killer Santa #1 places itself across the timeline from 1971 to 2007, featuring the original killer Santa that traumatised Billy and Ricky.

My Bloody Valentine 3D opens with newspapers about a mine collapse in 1998. There's then a time jump to 1999, with Harry Warden (not to be confused with his 1981 counterpart) going on a killing spree. Finally, there's a ten year time jump to 2009.

Silent Night is set five years after 2008, which places it in 2013.

Valentine Bluffs Massacre #1-4 is placed in 2015 to match the ages of the characters and the days of the week given.

Perhaps 4 and 5 should be 1996 and 1997 instead of their release dates? Ricky in 5 is a different character from the Ricky in 4 despite sharing the same actor, perhaps it's Garbageday after 3.

Am after Silent Night, Deadly Night Part 2. Let me get this straight, Ricky is 14 in 1984 but 12 in 1985. Yeah, makes sense. Well, Ricky is crazy so of course he's spitting stupid shit, besides he wants to appear younger for some reason I guess. The film is set 7 years after the first one, so he's 21 but he says he's 18. It's funny.

They watch Silent Night, Deadly Night (1984) as a movie in Silent Night, Deadly Night 2, which uses footage from the first film as flashbacks. Actually insane.

I dispute nothing, am saying the film they're watching is not exactly Silent Night, Deadly Night. We see the screen for a bit and those are scenes from SNDN, but we hear some scenes and have descriptions of some by the people watching it and they describe scenes not seen by us in SNDN and some what we hear is also not from SNDN as seen by us in the first film. That's what I'm saying.

Silent Night, Deadly Night 4 is set in 1989, before the second film... and the third film is shown as a movie on TV, lol. Weird ass series.
