Definitely go with Y. It's basically required reading at this point, and for good reason. But you should know that L&K, while currently running, is finite, due to end in about 13 issues from now. It's also really, really good. But go with Y and pick up L&K when it's finished and collected.

Well, sorry about FCBD, guys. On a lighter note, anyone who has ever read a comic in their lives should track down the Axe Cop mini and the trade if they don't already follow it online. It's like Nextwave good.

If the series gets the okay, the pilot shown to the execs will usually be the first episode aired. But in many cases, tweaks are requested before it does air, and sometimes it won't even be the first episode. I think that happened with Dollhouse. So, it depends.
