In other news, I started watching the first season again last night(I've only watched it twice, once as it aired, and again on DVD right before S2 started) and during "Walkabout" I noticed something awesome: The adding machine Locke is using at his desk at the end of the first flashback makes the exact same sound as the Black Smoke.

There are way too many conspiracies about Lost out there.

The sad part is that the show has a conspiracy theme to it, so it only makes conspiracy theorists more emboldened.
 
By the way, the end of "Walkabout" is twice as moving to watch while knowing how Locke became paraplegic. I'd seen that scene at least four times before, including the first time it aired, but this was the first time that I teared up a bit while watching it.

The two most moving scenes in the series, though, are the montages at the end of "Tabula Rasa" and "Everybody Hates Hugo", respectively. I tear up every time I watch either of those.
 
You're going to miss a big one tonight... From what I've heard, there are a lot of interesting things supposed to be happening. Someone dies, Sun goes ape ****, and answers (supposedly) are answered).

And, hey, did anyone hear in the latest podcast that the map that Sayid acquired from Danielle in the very beginning had a second island to it?

Wanna know who dies? Remember that the person who dies has a flashback. Tonight is Nikki & Paulo's flashback.

Paulo dies tonight. Head shot and from what I've been told one of the more gruesome character deaths. I would love to say he takes a bath in Nair and gets a bunch of piercings and bling and takes over the free world, lol, but that's a different movie all together.

Real interesting stuff... I can't really make out anything other than Paulo and Nikki are business partners, of sorts, and are concerned with a bag that has something that is worth millions inside... Paulo finds it but keeps it from Nikki... What the hell's going on here? CAN'T wait.
 
Oh man that was a messed up ending. Good episode, didnt further the plot but was good non the less. I liked how we originally thought they were new force on characters and turns out they die soon as we find out anything about them

Next episode Cat fight... in the rain... with t-shirts :D :D :D

And the best part is, Nikki would've gotten there in time to tell Sawyer and Hurley what happened, IF she hadn't stopped to hide the diamonds!

The only thing that bugged me was that I liked what Charlie did to Sun being a deep dark secret, and realistically, I don't think he would've told her. I mean, what will that accomplish?

I have a suspiscion that they had bigger plans for them but the response to introducing two new characters, one of whom a generic bimbo, was so negative that they decided to just write them out in an interesting and amusing way and move on, maybe writing the aforementioned bigger plans into the storylines of the other characters.

It's too bad we had to use up a whole episode to do so, but at least it was a fun, captivating ride.

And seeing some of the dead characters visit again was great. I really miss Arzdt, actually. I don't think he should've died.
 
There are, what, forty something people on the Flight 815 side of the island?
So far, we've only dealt with the core characters, the "cool kids" while everyone else just sort of...hangs out? I mean, what the hell IS everyone else doing all day while everyone else is dying/getting hurt/getting kidnapped/causing shennanigans?
These are the "Non-essential Islanders" we've actually had any contribution to the show as of this episode...
Arnzt - Dead.
Rose and Bernard - Played with rocks. Sorta' saved Claire from the Hatch door.
Scott & Steve - One of them is dead, the other one stands in the background every once in a while and looks cool. But he's helped people do stuff before.
Mr. "I've-got-every-disease-known-to-mankind-because-I'm-on-this-island-but-hey...Are-you-playing-golf? Can-I-Play?" Guy - Whined, then played golf.
Paolo and Nikki - Dead.

I think that's it. Them, added to the "cool kids" who are still alive, equals...Nineteen (counting Desmond). And three of them are dead, so it's actually sixteen. Sixteen out of 35?-40? people. I think there should be more involvement from the others, even if it's just like "Hey, Frank, have you seen Charlie?"
"I dunno, Hurley, maybe you should check that fat a** of yours, perhaps you sat on him."
Or maybe someone who has no connection to anyone can get killed by something for a change. "Hey, we found Jenny dead in the jungle."
"What?!"
"Yeah, I know, it's sucks, right? You'd think with all of these people dying we'd be kind of depressed and, y'know, more careful about stuff, but we just keep doing lots of stupid stuff without - hey, did you hear that? Sounded like something that could totally rip us limb from limb, let's go check it out!"

I totally agree with this, and I usually love it when they have interaction for the "background" Lostaways.

The problem with Nikki and Paulo was that they walk on and they're just so obviously wannabe new-characters that it was obnoxious. They both look like models and were just so phony.

What I want is more of characters who are just regular people, like the whiny hypochondriac guy or Steve, or some of the women we don't see much of. Work THEM into the show, not magazine ad personalities like Nikki and Paulo. That's why Arzdt worked so well, and I'm sad that he's gone and his death is just a running joke.
 
The dude EXPLODED. After saying he was the best one to do it. And after we were all like "whew".
And then Hurley uttered one of the greatest sentences in the history of spoken language. "Dude...you've got some...Arnzt...on you."
A sentence so perfect, they made a shirt out of it.
And on the back shoulder, there is a little ragged fleshy piece.

Plus, he wore a scarf. C'mon.

Hilarious.

I really liked this episode. I thought it was the ****. I didn't think I'd like how Nikki and Paulo were put into everything, but this worked well.

So are they really dead? We're not going to see anymore of them? :twisted:

Anyone got a link for the promo for the next episode?
 
I liked all the references and stuff about death... Christian Shepherd is alive. :D
