Looking for comics where Superman doesn't randomly job?

Essentially all powerful characters forget their powers and act like morons at random, because most writers have difficulty writing characters who defy physics and are virtually perfect in real world terms. Nonetheless I view it as a mark of a superior writer to create a good story without making the protagonist a goofball with amnesia every three issues.
Elliot S! Maggin and Grant Morrison are the main ones I can think of who wrote excellent Superman stories while letting him be a planet moving time traveler with super intelligence.
I've read near every single Superman comic ever published, but I'd like to hear someone else's recommendations.
