Orphans

Back on topic, this is what I want to duplicate: http://www.wired.com/culture/lifestyle/news/2005/11/69641

Basically, an entire imaginary franchise detailed by wiki using compound's work as the base premise, or as Holkins puts it "the half-ass bull**** used to underlie the money-printing extravaganza," which exists in part to prove the facileness of such back stories and in part to acknowledge the culpability of fans who buy it all, no matter the quality.

The fact that this is a mystery drama for television means it can develop the same kind of hysterical proportions as a show like Lost, whose wikis represent the same kind of BS.

Myself and some friends have one of those for an imaginary comic book publisher.

Ostensibly it's for an online roleplaying game, but it's full of characters and settings and events and publications ranging from romance to horror to superhero to merchandise tie-ins, most of which haven't appeared or have any impact on the game.
